Today we went to the Special Education School of Yangshuo, Guangxi, together with a group of students from Hong Kong. As Karstaway volunteers our job was to support the HK students to paint and fly kites with the children of the Special Education School.
Last month I travelled to China for a 2 week trip. I flew into Beijing: one of the most impressive airports I had ever seen, then onto Yangshuo, with its spectacular beauty and remarkable karsts, but also it's unexpected cafe society.
Deep in the heart of Guangxi province in southern China you can find a stunning little town where the hustle and bustle of a thriving tourist hotspot is surrounded by seemingly endless vistas, and a rural way of life that has remained largely unchanged in centuries.
