All of our projects have a dedicated expert project manager. Each group will work on their stand alone task which will help us move closer to the projects clearly defined long term goals.
THE LOVING HEART PROJECT
Yangshuo
A family run organisation working towards creating a vocational college for young adults with disabilities from all around China. We currently need volunteers to work on helping to build the campus. constructing the classroom and dorm rooms, landscaping the garden and farm and making the furniture.
THE SUSTAINABLE FOOD PROJECT
Yangshuo
Brings together many of the complex threads involved in the issue of food sustainability. From hands on work in the mud, to learning about environmental and health issues and tackling the difficult challenge of getting people to make the lifestyle changes towards greater sustainability.
SPECIAL EDUCATION SCHOOL
Yangshuo
Gives children with disabilities the chance to thrive. Taking part in hand on projects under the direct one-to-one supervision of visiting students and volunteers the children are learning greater independence, self sufficiency and communication skills
THE BRIGHT CONNECTION
Hainan
The Bright Connection is a centre for children with disabilities in Hainan. The children live in the centre year round with all funding coming directly from local donors. Karstaway is working with schools our interns and the community to generate on-going fundraising projects as well as assisting the wonderful centre staff with the day to day operations of the centre.
THE WETLANDS CONSERVATION PROJECT
Xiamen
Working alongside the Mangrove Conservation Network we working towards restoring and protecting China’s costal eco systems and developing local outreach programs to help engage and educate local communities.
THE SUSTAINABLE TOURISM PROJECT
Yunnan
Partnering with NGOs in rural Yunnan we are helping to create sustainable tourism and cultural exchange. Allowing communities with limited income to diversify their livelihoods whilst protecting their culture and the local community.
